Whereas: Immigrants are an integral part of our community. They care for our children, our elderly, and our sick. They do the hard and necessary work that makes our communities better places to live together. In NC alone, undocumented immigrants contributed over $692M to state and local taxes (NC Budget and Tax Center, 2022). US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) is terrorizing these honorable people, destroying their families, imprisoning their children and killing innocent people, including US citizens;
Therefore: We demand our NC Congressional delegation strip ICE of its funding until their enforcement policies protect all human rights, dignity, and life.
