Ending\n#ForeverWar<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n Congress passed the Authorization for Use of\nMilitary Force (AUMF) following 9\/11. Presidents Bush, Obama and Trump used it\nto justify warrantless surveillance, indefinite detention, the lethal use of\ndrones, the bombing of Syria, and at least 41 military operations in 19\ncountries. <\/p>\n\n\n\n The AUMF is a flawed, overly broad, blank\ncheck that fails to specify what actions are authorized and empowers the\nPresident to target anyone deemed a threat \u2013 even civilians.
